The BMW Berlin Marathon attracts more than 54,000 runners every year with a million spectators cheering from the side-lines. Starting and finishing near the Brandenburg Gate, many runners achieve a personal best as the route follows a flat course and is officially recognised as the fastest in the world.
One of the world's most popular marathons due its flat, fast course, the Berlin Marathon attracts nearly 44,000 runners every year. The route's sightseeing highlights include the Reichstag, Potsdamer Platz and the Unter den Linden boulevard.
