Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow – It’s The Tacheback Finale Party!!!

Friday 10 October 2003

Moustached men from up and down the country will join a host of hairy celebrities for the biggest and bushiest party of the year (Wednesday 8th October 2003) as the first ever Tacheback month, in aid of the Everyman Action Against Male Cancer Campaign, draws to a triumphant close.

Throughout September hundreds of men have proudly donned their upper lip fuzz as tache fever swept across the nation. Now it’s time to wave farewell to your facial furniture as Everyman presents the Tacheback Finale Party, sponsored by Braun and Gillette at the Elbow Room in Islington.

Everyman Patron Dermot O’Leary will be joined for an evening of tache parades by some of our top tache growers, fantastic fundraisers and two of the most famous tached men of recent years – The 118 118 guys!

The top tache parade will be judged by a selected panel to include Editor of GQ, Dylan Jones who said: “We’re simply making the declaration: for one month – and for one month only – moustaches are totally, completely and undeniably cool.”

Justin Carter, creator of Tacheback and owner of the Elbow Rooms said, “Throughout September taches have become a real growth area and hundreds of men have embraced the opportunity to grow a tache, whilst also raising thousands upon thousands of pounds for this very important cause.”

Everyman was set up by The Institute of Cancer Research in 1997 specifically to raise awareness of and funds for prostate and testicular cancers. Money raised by this campaign will go directly towards supporting research at the only dedicated male cancer research centre that was set up by The Institute.

Philip Black from the Everyman Campaign said, “The Tacheback Campaign was a new and innovative way for us to raise awareness and funds for male cancers. We have been absolutely delighted with it’s success and the Tacheback Finale Party will offer everyone the opportunity to celebrate their hairy achievement!”
