Biography and research overview
Dr Pasquale Rescigno was a Clinical Research Fellow and Prostate Cancer Foundation Young Investigator working in the Prostate Targeted Therapy Group. He now works at the Istituto di Candiolo IRCCS (Candiolo Cancer Institute).
His research focused on the study of mechanisms/pathways that are disrupted in prostate cancer (such as PTEN/PI3K/AKT, TP53 and RB1), and on the identification and validation of predictive, prognostic and efficacy-response biomarkers for novel agents targeting the PI3K/AKT, DNA repair systems and the PD-1/PDL-1 pathways.
He was a sub-investigator of several phase II/III Clinical Trials and designed and was the Clinical Coordinator and Co-Investigator of a national research project, MAESTRO, an umbrella trial.
More recently his research activity focused on the study of gut microbiome in prostate cancer. Away from the ICR, Dr Rescigno had international collaborations with Professor Andrea Alimonti (IOR, Bellinzona Switzerland) and Dr Karen Sfanos (Johns Hopkins, Baltimore).
