Biography
Dr Fernando Carceller, Paediatric & Adolescent Neuro-oncology and Drug Development Group
Dr Fernando Carceller is a Paediatric Oncologist focused on brain tumours and drug development. He works as a Consultant in the Children & Young People’s Unit and in the Paediatric & Adolescent Drug Development group at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust and is the Unit Lead for Paediatric Neuro-Oncology.
He completed his undergraduate training and specialisation in Paediatrics in Madrid (Spain) and joined the Royal Marsden in 2012.
His MD thesis studied the applications of functional MRI in Paediatric Drug Development and was granted an Extraordinary Doctorate Award by the Autonomous University of Madrid.
Dr Carceller is a Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator in a number of phase I, II and III clinical trials for children with newly diagnosed or relapsed / refractory solid tumours, and he is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer and Group Leader at the Institute of Cancer Research.
He is passionate about Paediatric Neuro-Oncology, functional MRI and Paediatric Drug Development and his main goal is to ensure access to novel therapies for children and adolescents with high-risk or relapsed / refractory brain tumours.
