Football Mad Rory Runs for England

Friday 30 April 2004

What extremes would you go to see England play? Would you run the equivalent of the London Marathon every day for 6 weeks? That's exactly what super extreme footie fan Rory Coleman will be doing. Leaving this Friday 30th April, he'll set off from London and arrive 43 days and 1,300 miles later in Lisbon, just in time for kick off of England's crucial group game against France in Euro 2004.

Driven by his passion for football, Rory will become the Right Guard Xtreme Fan - running all the way to Lisbon to raise money for the Everyman Male Cancer Awareness Campaign. Following his own personal cancer scare a year ago it's a subject close to Rory's heart, just like football which will see him dressed in full England kit and carrying the flag for Sven's men across the continent to victory!

What's even more extraordinary is that ten years ago Rory was on the booze, weighed 15 stone, and smoked 40 fags a day. Then one day in 1994 he decided to turn things around - for himself and his family. Since then he's set 9 world records and run 424 marathons - an average of one marathon every eight days.

Rory said: "I asked Right Guard Xtreme Total Protection to sponsor me because they are well known for supporting extreme challenges. To support me and donate to Everyman, all you have to do is go to www.rightguardxtremefan.com. All proceeds will go into vital research into male cancers. I'll be updating the site everyday so I can be tracked the whole way through France, Spain and Portugal to the match! This is the maddest, longest, most extreme run I have ever attempted -however with a supply of Right Guard Xtreme Total Protection in our support van it'll be nothing worth sweating over and I'm proud to be doing it for such a great cause".

Right Guard Xtreme Total Protection provides powerful protection against odour and sweat even in the most challenging situations which is just what Rory will need on his mammoth journey.
