The Cancer Research UK Convergence Science Centre

The Cancer Research UK Convergence Science Centre was established as a strategic partnership between Imperial College London and The Institute of Cancer Research, London with funding from Cancer Research UK.

The mission of the Centre is to bring together researchers across Imperial and the ICR from different disciplines, such as engineering, physical sciences, life sciences and medicine, to develop innovative ways to address challenges in cancer research to benefit cancer patients. This is achieved through interdisciplinary collaborations that integrate otherwise distinct approaches to co-create new tools, technologies and methodologies.

Our other strategic partner centres

Led by the Scientific Director, Professor Axel Behrens, who also hosts a research laboratory at the ICR, the Centre supports the clinical translation of novel cancer technologies and therapeutics, increasing the ICR and Imperial’s joint capability and capacity to discover and develop exciting convergence science solutions that expands our understanding of cancer, and greatly accelerates our ability to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer even more effectively.

Visit the Convergence Science Centre website to learn more about its work, including research themes, infrastructure, PhD studentships, research funding opportunities, news and events.
