Chloe (pictured below right) was first introduced to the ICR’s Will for Free programme by a previous employer, so when she left to set up her own firm, Willing Legal Services, she decided to continue partnering with the ICR.
Like many people, Chloe’s family has been affected by cancer, so she appreciates the vital importance of supporting research to help find the cures to defeat it.
Willing Legal Services have now been Will for Free members for over 4 years, and thanks to Chloe’s proactive marketing of the programme, over 170 of her clients have used the programme to make their Will for free.
Chloe says, “Lots of my clients can’t believe it’s actually free! Many comment on how easy it is to use the programme, and go on to recommend it to their family and friends, which is very positive.”
Review your Will
Chloe has the following advice for anyone thinking of making their Will:
- Just do it. Having a valid Will is so important to avoid problems after you’re gone.
- Make a note to review your Will every 2-3 years, and particularly after a big life event.
- Keep your Will up-to-date, otherwise it’s useless.
- Make sure you keep your Will in a safe place.
In order to get the most out of the appointment, Chloe advises her clients to consider in advance who they would like to include in their Will.
“Don’t forget the basics, such as noting the full names and addresses of the people you would like to benefit from your estate. I’d also recommend bringing along a list of questions, to make sure you don’t forget to ask something critical.”
